Electronic module for image capture at rotationally symmetric work pieces
There is an increasing need for automated image capture at rotationally symmetric work pieces, e.g. within engine cylinders. The conventional procedure is, to take picture segments with a camera and merge them afterwards to an overall view scan. Far superior is it to scan the surface in a cylinder with an application-specific probe, whose core item is a CIS sensor of the Canon company. The whole device including projection lens is inserted into the cylinder and turned around its axis. The surface is scanned line by line and the single iso-lines are assembled to an over-all circumference image.
The scanner described here is an order development for Breitmeier Messtechnik, BAP with image capture and processing to realize a quality check for metal facing, in this case the surface of the inside of a motor cylinder. The surface defines to a certain degree oil and gas consumption.
The surface here is scanned with an application specific probe device, the core piece of this probe device is a CCD or CIS sensor. For scanning, the whole device including the focusing optics is inserted into the cylinder and turned around its axis. During this process, the surface is scanned line by line and the single iso-lines are assembled to an over-all circumference image.
As the inner surface of an engine cylinder defines to a certain degree oil and gas consumption, the quality of the engine inner walls surface gains with coming shortage of resources appreciably significance. Out of gas and oil consumption further needs for high quality of the inner surface arise. The more gas and oil is needed by an engine, the higher is pollution.
Environmentalism and prevention of atmospheric pollution become more and more relevance in industries and also in development of new products. In some time, no products whatever it is an engine, a piece of paper or a new building will be sold any more if it des not fulfill strict regulatory state.
The development of this electronic module for image capture at rotationally symmetric work pieces makes a significant contribution to the requirements of climate protection.
